Mariana Montesdeoca came to United States when she was 14 years old, her family moved from Ecuador to the East End of Long Island, NY…
The Hamptons!!.
Always having a drive to strive and conquer difficulties she was not going to let a new country and a whole new language stop her. Mari (short for Mariana) had such hunger for growth from a very young age, even before coming to United states she would find herself working delivering paper, buying little gifts and going from door to door to re-sell them, as a volunteer teaching dance classes and choreography for young children as well as substitute teaching for underprivileged schools in Ecuador. She always knew she was born to be a leader of some sort of leader in a dance class.
Now older and in a different country as time went on she knew she had bigger goals and dreams. Fresh out of high school she was hungry for growth and independence, Mari spoke to one of her aunts one day and being a graphic designer for Abercrombie & Fitch mentioned that she should go to school for graphic design. Mari went to Ohio to the headquarters of Abercrombie & Fitch and had a tour of their design studio… She loved it! She went and signed up for graphic design course but after only one week, she was depressed about this decision and realized it was just the wrong fit.
One day, as she was standing outside one of her classroom, she noticed a few boards with interior design ideas from Interior design Students next door and she was intrigued. After doing some research and speaking with a few school counselors Mari decided interior design was what she was going to try instead.
"It felt as If I was born to do this, Interior design, this is it!"
Her mom has a clothing alterations/interior design workroom, she hired Mari to help her with the administrative aspect of the business and that’s when Mari’s passion for Interior design grew even bigger. "The best part of it all was meeting amazing interior designers who would come to the workroom, ask lots of questions and get familiar with interior design".
Most designers just loved Mari, until she met one designer who saw Mari’s passion and potential for Interior design and offered her a job as a design assistant. Mari was now closer to her dream than ever, having this job opened so many doors, she also became part of the Millneck Manor show-house in 2008 for Mansions and Millionaires, where Mari was able to see first hand and be completely involved with what interior design is really about. "I remember that experience as being very hungry, exhausted, working long hours but feeling more fulfilled and happy then ever, It was the best time of my life”.
“If it was easy it wouldn’t be worth it, my passion is stronger than my fears or failures, I will always move forward”.
Mari’s passion for Interior design goes beyond just a job or a career, her team enjoys bringing people space solutions with the high end designers creativity that fits the clients unique style.
